A Little Blip

It is snowing again. We had a few days of grassy fields, but the temperature dropped and now the roads are covered in a billion magical white flakes. Last night we participated in an intense Ping Pong training session. That's right folks. Ping. Pong. Tarek's mom is a regular Ping-Ponger at the local sports complex, so we tagged along. Nick and I played each other (because we are not very good), and it was a lot of fun. We played for two hours and by the end, my technique was significantly improved and I was 20 Euros richer (thank you nicholas!). We woke today to face a frosty foggy morning. After a healthy breakfast, we went on a two hour tour through the bush. Tarek led us towards an old underground hunting tunnel. In the 17th century, these tunnels were built in a square perimeter for the "little Kings," as Carola (tareks mom) likes to call them, to hunt. The dukes put food in the middle of the field to lure the animals to the middle. They are then able to walk around underground in these tunnels, then just pop up and shoot the unknowing boars or deer caught in the middle. A bit cheap if you ask me... But nonetheless, it was a cool thing to see.

As I mentioned a few days ago, there was a small blip in our adventure. We misunderstood the rules of our Visa, and now we have had to adjust our travel plans accordingly. This does no deter us too much, though, and we are excited for the NEW possibilities opened up before us. So we have begun packing yet again, as tomorrow we set out on the next little lag of our journey. First stop: Berlin, for a smashing New Years. On the 1st we fly to Athens, Greece. Our original intention was to stay for at least a month, but our visas disagree. Instead, we will visit Greece for just a few weeks then head off to bigger and better things... outside the Schengan borders of course. (Schengan = many "borderless" countries in Europe, including Spain, Italy, Greece, Denmark, Austria, Germany, and many many more.) We don't know where we will go yet... but I'm sure something will turn up. It usually does :)

P.S. Happy New Years! Be safe and full of joy!
